After several years of Benjamin painting the campus "en plein air" (a French term meaning painting on the spot on location), he found this scene in front of the Texas A&M campus particularly beautiful in Spring. In recent years the bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush have been very thick. He incorporated Reveille into the scene and did a final painting in oil. This result is another Benjamin Knox iconic image created into a much loved fine art print. Life imitating art: Company E2 (the handlers of Reveille) started mimicking Benjamin's image and taking Reveille's photo portrait in the exact same spot.
